Understanding Your Fears About Getting Read
The most common thing prospective clients tell me when they are thinking about being read is that they are afraid of being read. There are various reasons for people's fear but most of the time it seems to be that they are afraid I will tell them something bad. Before giving consent to be read, it's important to understand several points.
Regarding past lives, every soul at one point or another has done bad things, whether it be murder, suicide, theft, deception, rape, or any other manner of bad deed. Sometimes doing bad things is a product of the society the soul was born into, while other times it's planned before birth for very specific purposes. The lessons brought about through bad deeds are far-reaching and long-lasting. So simply put, the possibility of being told that you have done bad things in past lives does not make you a bad soul. It simply means you have had hard lessons and obstacles to overcome, and as long as you are no longer doing those bad things, then you have grown into a stronger, more generous, thoughtful soul. Nothing happens by accident and very few souls are inherently bad. There is nothing to fear about the possibility of being told about bad deeds because we have all done similar things at one point or another, and being told about it suggests that you still have something to learn from it.
Regarding possible futures as told by Tarot readings, there is also nothing to fear from being told about possible bad elements either. A common misconception about foreseeing the future is that it absolutely will happen exactly as the intuitive tells it. Not so. If everything in our future was set in stone, then the concept of free will would not exist. The things that are pre-planned before being born into lives are the various major obstacles and lessons brought about from other people in your soul group. The obstacles and lessons are planned but how we react to them and whether we take anything from them is part of free will and will determine the success or failure, happiness or unhappiness about that life. The obstacles are like tests or quizzes in school. If you study and prepare, you do well. If you ignore it, then you will not do well. The job of an intuitive is to show you which path you're on if you continue the way you are now, but it's up to you to make the necessary life changes to change your path if you don't like the way you are headed now. Happiness and success are in your own hands if you listen to the cues offered by the universe, intuitives and your own instincts.
Occasionally (very rarely) when I read people, I get responses that express disappointment that they didn't feel as connected to their past life case as I do to mine. Some people (not naming anyone in particular, it just happens in general sometimes) expect to get a laundry list of parallels like I have, exact names, dates, places, etc., like I have with mine. When they don't get those things to the extent that I do, they are disappointed. It doesn't happen very often but it does happen from time to time. There is a very simple reason for that:
My reincarnation case is not typical. It's abnormal. I, and a few others like me, are a minority within the reincarnation community. Do not look at me as an example of what to expect and demand for yourself.
There are a few people out there like me with this amount of obvious parallels, connections, dates, names, facts, etc., but the vast majority of people are only going to get vague inclinations toward their past lives. People like me with blinding evidence are here, in my opinion, to keep faith alive that there is life after death. If the world had the absolute blinding truth about the afterlife and reincarnation, faith would be a nonexistent concept. It would simply disappear. Once ideas become provable facts, things that were just ideas before get taken for granted and eventually ignored instead of marveled over and studied and considered. That is why the God, afterlife and reincarnation will never be solidly proven to the majority of the planet. Faith simply must exist, not only to keep diversity alive, but to leave just enough doubt to make people engage with each other and to teach and learn tolerance. Faith is a necessary ingredient in humanity. People like me, Jeffrey Keene, Sherrie Lea Laird, Robert Snow, William Barnes, etc., with such strong cases of reincarnation are here to perpetuate faith, just as hard-nosed skeptics are here to perpetuate reason and doubt. It's all about the balance of things. The majority of people in between have to decide for themselves which side to take and that is part of each and every person's own life path.
Also, one needs to remember that studying your own past lives and receiving readings about them is not an easy process. I was not given my reincarnation information that you read about here in an overnight event. I'm going to be 28 in February. It has taken literally my entire life to put the pieces together about Fanny Chamberlain and myself. The purpose of an intuitive reading is not to cram almost 30 years of experience, research and revelation into a 30 minute guide. The purpose of an intuitive reading is to give you the pieces of information that you need to begin your own journey of discovery. Nobody can do the leg work in your own soul except you. Intuitives are here to push people in the right direction, not to do all the work for them.
I'll give you an example.
When I was 12 or 13, my mother threw a party and invited an intuitive to come give the guests readings for fun. After the party was over, I got to have a turn with the intuitive. She began talking about my twin flame who had sort of sandy hair, lived by the sea, was disabled, and the number 5 was extremely significant to us. I had no idea what she was talking about and I thought she was crazy but the party was fun so I shrugged and put it out of my mind. Skip ahead to when I was 22 and I was doing research about Fanny and her life. It suddenly occurred to me what that old intuitive was talking about. Lawrence had dark sandy hair bordering on medium brown. He lived by the sea. He was declared permanently disabled by the government in 1865. He began pursuing Fanny in 1850, they were married in 1855 (that's 5 years of dating), there were 5 children for them, he came from a family of 5 siblings, he served in the 5th corps, they were a couple for 55 years, Fanny died in 1905, etc. What I thought was actually a crazy old lady telling me stories turned out to be a lot of valuable information. Things an intuitive tells you may not make sense right this minute or give you a sense of completion right this minute, but chances are those things will make sense in the future and be a source of validation on your own discoveries.
So when you seek out an intuitive, be careful not to have unrealistic expectations about what we do and don't be so concerned about what you get out of it vs what you think other people have gotten out of it. We are here to give people spiritual tools for their own journeys and we are here to give people a push in the right direction. What we are not here to do is do the leg work for people. We are not past or future phone books. The results are going to be different for every person. If things don't make sense to a person right away, they should just tuck it away in the back of their mind for the day when all the pieces fall into place like it did for me almost ten years after the initial reading.
